It also makes the engine tidier.removes some weight too. after you remove the pump and the metal line coming from the back of the the heads, you need to plug those up or it will sound like you are running no mufflers.Vehicle: 1993 F-250 XLT, 351W (5.8), 4x4, w/AC. I removed the three bolts holding the pulley onto the smog pump. Note: Leave the old belt connected when you loosen the three bolts so you don't deal with the pulley turning).
