Honda accord wont come out of park
May 23, 2012 · First- check the rear brake lights and see if they are working when you step on the brake pedal. If the lights are NOT working, check your fuse #13. If the fuses are good, and still no brake lights, the problem will be the Brake Light Switch (aka Brake Pedal Position Switch) located at the top of the brake pedal arm. The shop we took it to had rebuilt tranny's for Honda's and Acura's. The guy said it was a really common problem after 100K miles. We had the tranny replaced along with some sensors, but every now and then the ignition won't turn all the way off. I have to turn the car on and move it either back or forth and kinda slam the shifter to Park.
