This is my take on the Kiblers Southern Mountain Rifle kit.Woodsrunner is finished. « on: January 31, 2023, 08:40:31 PM ». Can't remember how long ago the last "kit" build was, maybe three decades? I was impressed with the comments here and elsewhere regarding Jim Kibler's kits and decided to get a "Woodsrunner" when it was announced. The original was a very appealing rifle.

Been a couple of years since I completed my Colonial with interchangeable barrels in 50 and 58 caliber. While both barrels shoot exceptionally well, the 58 quickly became my favorite. Lighter weight aside, the fine balance of the 58 was noticeable, and the difference in felt recoil was negligible. Since I sh If you want a Pennsylvania style rifle, go with Tennessee Valley or Kibler or similar. That will cost a bit though. I think you can get an assembled Kibler for 16-1700. Your no stranger to PRB shooting but I will throw this in anyway: I would recommend at least a 54 cal rifle for round ball shooting. This is just my recommendation.
